Work with the Gentle Giants of Thailand and contribute towards improving their lives
Situated in the northern part of Thailand is where our volunteers spend their time working with elephants who once worked in tourist camps. Being in Thailand it is almost impossible for elephants to get away from elephant keeping communities.
These elephants now live in a more natural environment and being on this program, volunteers learn about the history, behavior, social interactions and also observe elephants alongside mahouts and in their natural habitat.
There is also a strong community focus in this program, other than the focus on elephant conservation. Elephant conservation hikes, bio-diversity hikes & research are done in the mornings. Afternoons and evenings volunteers & staff are either doing base projects (gardening, construction etc.), conservation/language presentations and/or teaching English.
