The university’s work is based on values like academic excellence, humanism, innovation, environmental sensibility, pluralism and social commitment. The two campuses of the university are located at the Avenue John F. Kennedy in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, surrounded by green areas to grant an enjoyable environment.
All of the university careers of UNPHU provide students with a full bilingual degree, which grants them a competitive advantage when applying for future jobs.

The School of Veterinary Medicine at UNPHU as one of the oldest veterinary schools in the Dominican Republic has already many years of experience. The curriculum takes four years and is focused on the theoretical training of the students, but also includes practice elements. For this purpose the School cooperates with a veterinary clinic and a number of laboratories. Currently the school has 120 students and the classes are held with 10 to 15 students each to guarantee direct contact with the lecturers. The students have the possibility to graduate with a national certificate and in addition obtain a ECVMG-Certificate (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) for recognition in Puerto Rico and the United States.
